Cambodia nabs 1,485 people in crackdowns on drugs in January

Phnom Penh – Cambodian authorities arrested a total of 1,485 illicit drug suspects in 632 cases in January 2019, said an Interior Ministry’s anti-drug department report on Saturday.

About 806 suspects were involved in drug trafficking and 679 were related to drug use, the report said, adding that 110 of them are female.

It said more than 5.2 kg of drugs including heroin, cocaine, crystal methamphetamine and methamphetamine pills, and 16.5 kg of dry marijuana were confiscated from the suspects last month.
