Cambodia confirms 48 new COVID-19 cases, total at 1,680

Cambodia on Sunday reported 48 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total number of infections to 1,680, said a Ministry of Health (MoH) statement.

The new infections included 47 local cases — 37 in capital Phnom Penh, seven in Kandal province, two in Preah Sihanouk province and one in Siem Reap province, and one imported case, MoH’s secretary of state and spokeswoman Or Vandine said in the statement.

“Staying home is the best choice for now during this time of active virus circulation,” she said. “Phnom Penh dwellers should stop unnecessary travel to provinces and vice versa.”
