Brit killed in Cambodia as motorcycle plunges 30ft down steep bank into canal

Police in Kampot City, Cambodia suspect the British man, named locally as Nicholas Hyett, 48, from Bedford, England, was travelling at high speed and lost control of his motorcycle.

A British man was killed in a horror motorcycle crash in Cambodia when he lost control of the bike, skidded off a bridge and plunged 30ft down a steep bank into a canal, police say.

The man, named by local media as Nicholas Hyett, 48, from Bedford, was found dead by two locals who were walking past when they noticed his body in the ditch on Wednesday.

He is believed to have been lying in the shallow water for several hours before passers-by saw him at roughly 10pm.
