Authorities in Cambodia’s border province to hold anti-riot training before exiled former opposition leader’s return

Security forces in the Cambodian border province of Banteay Meanchey will conduct an anti-riot training on Friday before the planned return of self-exiled former opposition leader Sam Rainsy.

The Banteay Meanchey Provincial Administration said in a statement on Thursday that the one-day training is aimed at “enhancing the maintaining of security, public order and safety.”

The statement said the training will be held at the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Police Commissariat in Serey Sophorn town.
