Australia Boosts CMAC Training

The Australian government has donated approximately $898,000 for management training of staff at the Cambodian Mine Action Center. The money is being channeled through the UN Development Program for four civilian technical advisers to CMAC for a two-year period, a statement from the UNDP said.

The cash will help to fund two management training positions at CMAC’s Kompong Chhnang training center and two staff training positions at CMAC headquarters in Phnom Penh, the statement said. Australia is the largest cash donor for CMAC’s Trust Fund, administered by UNDP. Australia has donated $10.2 million to the fund since 1993, the statement said.
