4 workers dead after lift falls in Cambodia’s hotel building

Phnom Penh — Four men had died after a lift they were in fell from the sixth floor in an under-construction hotel building in western Cambodia’s Pailin province on Tuesday morning, the National Police said.

“Four people were killed immediately and one was seriously injured after elevator cables snapped and the elevator fell from the sixth floor of an under-construction 12-storey building,” the National Police reported on its website.

Overload of people and construction materials was blamed for the tragic accident, the police said.
