Australian filmmaker James Ricketson granted royal pardon

Australian filmmaker James Ricketson, who last month was convicted by a Phnom Penh court of espionage, has been granted a royal pardon.

Ricketson was arrested in June 2017 and had been jailed since. It is unclear when he will be released. Ricketson was charged with espionage for using a drone to record video footage during an opposition party rally.

This is a developing story.
