Cambodian pagodas drum their COVID-19 alerts (video)

Prime Minister Hun Sen had earlier ordered all pagodas to use this traditional method of alerting residents as a message to fight against COVID-19.

The Southeast Asian nation of about 16 million has among the lowest reported number of coronavirus cases in the world.

However, on March 13 it reported its first COVID-19 death, and since then the death toll has risen to five. The total number of infections has also increased since then, from around 1,100 cases to 1,817 cases on Wednesday.
