Cambodia reports dramatic increase in dengue in 2019

Many countries in southeast Asia are reporting increases in dengue fever in 2019 and Cambodia is no exception.

Through the end of September, some 56,000 dengue fever cases have been reported. This is eight times the number of cases reported during the same period in 2018 (7,000).

WHO notes the incidence of dengue has grown dramatically around the world in recent decades. A vast majority of cases are asymptomatic and hence the actual numbers of dengue cases are underreported and many cases are misclassified.
