Cambodia reports 178 new COVID-19 cases, 2 more deaths

Cambodia on Wednesday logged 178 new COVID-19 cases and two more deaths, the country’s Ministry of Health (MoH) said in a statement.

The new cases included 177 local cases — mostly in capital Phnom Penh and one imported case, the statement said, adding that the imported case was detected on a 47-year-old Cambodian man returning from Thailand on Monday.

In the latest move, the country required people in Svay Rieng province to wear face masks in the public and in businesses, saying that the province has been determined as the high-risk COVID-19 area of infections.
