Australians hoping to avoid a coronavirus lockdown in Cambodia by taking a special flight organised by Canberra this Sunday have been told to make their way to Phnom Penh immediately.
The warning particularly applies to Australians living in the Cambodian countryside and was issued shortly after Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen late on Thursday ordered cross-border restrictions on any travel between provinces from midnight.
“If you are currently outside Phnom Penh but intending to take the planned Embassy facilitated flight to Australia on 12 April you should make your way to Phnom Penh immediately,” the Australian embassy said in a statement.
