Rare finless dolphin discovered in Cambodia — marking country’s first sighting

A finless dolphin was recently discovered in Cambodia, marking the first-ever sighting of the species in the country, officials said.

The marine mammal was found dead on June 10 in the Kampot province, located along the coast, according to a news release from the Ministry of Information.

It had died after being caught in a fishing net by members of a local fishing community, according to the Phnom Penh Post, an English language newspaper.
