The controversy over police choke holds which gained wide attention after the death of George Floyd is also being felt in Cambodia.
A video which surfaced June 29 shows a Cambodian police officer using the same carotid restraint seen in the death of Floyd in Minneapolis.
In the video taken by a bystander, a Cambodian police officer is seen placing his knee on Vey Longreach, an alleged drug trafficker and user, according to VOA. The video also captures the police officers, who are not identified, kicking, pushing, and pulling the suspect’s hair.
