Cambodia’s cinemas and theatres will get the green light to reopen although no official date has been set, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts announced.
Movie theatres were closed in March. Before reopening, the owners of cinemas and theatres have to request a form and sign an agreement with the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts promising to follow proper safety measures and standard operating principles, the announcement said.
The ministry said the goal is to alleviate the economic burden and encourage artistes.
While that is good news for theatre owners and workers, Covid-19 has re-emerged in the country recently with a rash of new cases that have driven up the country’s total. But recoveries are also on the rise.
