Project helps tackle harassment in Cambodia factories

Manufacturers employing more than 30,000 people have been helped to improve how they prevent and respond to sexual harassment thanks to an initiative between Better Factories Cambodia (BFC) and aid organisation CARE International.

The two are also challenging the perception that reports of sexual harassment may have negative impacts on factory compliance assessments.

CARE International’s Cambodia unit has been working since 2014 to address workplace sexual harassment in factories, and has developed a prevention package that has been recommended by Better Factories Cambodia as an effective way for factory managers to tackle the issue.
