Nagacorp remains in the black despite Covid-19 shut-down

Cambodian operator Nagacorp saw revenue and profit for the first half of 2020 drop following the closure of its properties due to novel coronavirus (Covid-19) throughout the second quarter, though the business still turned a profit for the period.

Revenue for the six months to 30 June fell 57.7% year-on-year to $377.5m (£280.7m/€315.2m) after its properties were shuttered from 1 April, meaning all revenue was generated in the opening three months of 2020.

The $377.5m total comprised $339.3m in table games revenue, down 57.4%, with a further $32.7m coming from electronic gaming machines (slots), a 57.2% decline from H1 2019. Nagacorp reported a further $5.5m in revenue from food and beverage sales, and hotel rooms, a 71.3% drop.
