Donaco International Limited has reopened its Cambodian casino, Star Vegas in Poipet, with limited operations pending the reopening of the border with Thailand.
The company stated in a Friday filing that the limited reopening would allow it to “test its operational systems whilst ensuring the health and wellbeing of staff and visitors.”
Star Vegas has been closed since 1 April following an order from Prime Minister Hun Sen for all Cambodian casinos to suspend operations. That order was lifted on 3 July pending individual approvals from the Ministry of Health, however Donaco had until now refrained from reopening given the majority of its business comes from neighboring Thailand.
