Cambodian government doles out subsidy to workers

The Cambodian government has begun its first phase of providing subsidies to some 275,747 workers from 513 factories involved in the manufacturing of garments, footwear and bags in Phnom Penh, Kandal province and Sihanoukville.

Workers who are eligible for the handout would receive a text message or through a phone call from the ministry at the numbers provided by their respective employers, said Labour Minister Ith Samheng, according to Khmer Times
