Cambodia’s National Council on Minimum Wage (NCMW) recently arrived at a consensus on $202 as the new monthly minimum wage for garment, travel goods and bag industries. Prime Minister Hun Manet later added an additional $2, which made the final figure $204 for next year.
The minimum wage now is $200 per month.
The decision was arrived at during an NCMW meeting chaired by labour and vocational training (MLVT) minister Heng Sour and attended by nearly 100 representatives of employer’s associations, labour unions and the MLVT ministry.
