Cambodia likely to postpone Asem13 to next year

Cambodia is expected to postpone the upcoming 13th Asia-Europe Meeting (Asem13) to next year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Asem13 was scheduled for Nov 16 to 17 here but as the Covid-19 pandemic spreads, Cambodia is now discussing with the European Union and other Asem members on pushing it to next year.

The government said the decision was made after a top-level meeting led by Prime Minister Hun Sen to discuss drafting a law to declare a state of emergency in the country, reports the Phnom Penh Post.
