Cambodia braces for EBA fallout

Cambodia is bracing for the impact of the European Union’s (EU) decision on the Everything but Arms (EBA) trade deal which will be issued next month.

With the threat of losing trade privileges in the EU drawing closer, the government has been taking measures to safeguard the nation’s competitiveness.

According to the Phnom Penh Post, the government intervened to reduce the cost of services in the main ports with terminal handling charges in Sihan-oukville Autonomous Port and Phnom Penh Autonomous Port being reduced between US$5 and US$40 for containers.
