Four Chinese Nationals Sought in Bentley Crash

Police are hunting for four Chinese nationals who fled the scene of a crash following a high-speed chase in their white Bentley, officials said on Wednesday.

The men were speeding south on Phnom Penh’s Norodom Boulevard when they hit a motorbike and another car, injuring six people, according to witnesses of the 1:40 a.m. crash in Daun Penh district, said deputy municipal traffic bureau chief Sem Kunthea.

“They told authorities that the Bentley car was driving at high speed, chasing another car,” he said.

The four injured Chinese nationals in the Bentley fled and were being sought, he added.

“I have not dared to conclude that the four Chinese people were drunk because we don’t have evidence, but people traveling on the road told us that they were drunk,” Mr. Kunthea said.

Police are checking hospitals for the injured Chinese men, he added.

The driver of the other car, Cambodia Daily translator Tem Sokhom, who was returning home from work, and the motorbike rider were also severely injured.
